Course Overview

Thirty-four percent of all injuries resulting in lost work days are due to work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This online training discusses ergonomics that help minimize the risk of such problems, as well as the signs and symptoms of MSDs. Ergonomic risk factors are discussed, along with engineering controls, administrative controls such as management policies and practices to reduce injuries, and personal protective equipment. The video stresses the importance of employees reporting MSD-related symptoms to employers immediately to minimize the risk of further injury. Additionally, safe lifting and carrying techniques, team lifting and mechanical lifting aids are discussed and depicted.
