Heat Stress: Working Safely In The Heat

Watch the video for a preview of the training.

Course Overview

Many of us are familiar with what it feels like to be sweating on a hot summer's day, and how good it feels when a fan or cool breeze blows on our skin. For some, exposure to hot temperatures, work in direct sunlight, or working in physically demanding environments for a prolonged period of time, is part of the job. If this is the case, you must be trained to prevent heat stress. This course discusses working in these types of situations, the body's defensive responses to exposure, heat rash, heat cramps, heat stroke, and other incredibly serious symptoms of overexposure and the dangers if gone untreated. Use this course to educate employees about the importance of recognizing the signs and symptoms of too much exposure to heat, and how to effectively manage and care for oneself in the heat.
