Course Overview

Without utilizing appropriate safeguard measures, a bloodborne pathogen exposure can result in illness, litigation, and other serious consequences. Therefore, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has developed standards around Bloodborne Pathogens. This course seeks to instruct individuals in various organization types of the safe work practices related to bloodborne pathogens. This course provides an overview on bloodborne pathogens, discusses the importance of an exposure plan, routes of entry, critical precautions everyone must take, disposal and infection of contaminated materials, and the methods by which an organization should respond to an exposure. Use this course among staff at levels of your organization, particularly those who are at the highest risk.
