Workplace fires occur more than many people think. Therefore, the knowledge of how to use a fire extinguisher may come in handy when responding to a fire. This safety training course teaches the California OSHA requirements for the use, placement, maintenance, and testing of portable fire extinguishers. Viewers learn how in California employers have the choice of whether to provide portable fire extinguishers in the workplace. If employers provide extinguishers, they are required to train designated employees on how to use them. This course demonstrates the four steps to using a fire extinguisher. Viewers learn about the different classes of fire, the types of fire extinguishers, and the importance of inspecting and maintaining extinguishers.
