According to Electrical Safety Foundation International, there were 166 electrical fatalities in 2019, which was a 3.75% increase over 2018 and the highest number of electrical fatalities since 2011. This statistic highlights why electrical hazards are among OSHA's construction "Fatal Four". This course's primary objectives are to inform construction workers about the OSHA requirements around the electrical hazards pertinent to construction environments, and to directly discuss those specific hazards and the corresponding safe work practices. This course seeks to help workers eliminate injuries and fatalities by show them how to work safely around power lines, various energized sources, ground fault circuit interrupters, and power cords.
