Course Overview

In 2010, a fatal explosion and fire took place at the Tesoro refinery in Anacortes, Washington. Due to the High Temperature Hydrogen Attack (HTHA), a nearly 40-year-old heat exchanger ruptured, exploding and fatally injuring 7 workers, making it the largest loss of life at the U.S. refinery since 2005. This course helps viewers to gain an understanding on the causes of High Temperature Hydrogen Attacks, how incidents such as these can occur and the importance of industry codes, standards and regulatory changes to reduce accident risks and hazards such as these. Ensure your employees have an appreciation for the dangers of heat and refinery explosions with this training course.
