Chew on this: The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that each year 48 million people get sick from a foodborne illness, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die. Foodborne illnesses are no laughing matter. Food safety and proper handling of food is a key aspect of appropriate food safety measures. This course discusses sources of foodborne illnesses, good personal hygiene for food handlers, handwashing, preventing cross-contamination, and proper sanitization. Utilize this course to train those responsible for the proper and safe handling of food to ensure a clear and consistent understanding of techniques to prevent foodborne illness and ensure cleanliness in your work areas and with customers.
