Hazard Communication In Cleaning And Maintenance Environments

Watch the video for a preview of the training.

Course Overview

Developed by OSHA, the Hazard Communication (HazCom) standard offers a set of processes and procedures employers must implement in the workplace to effectively and appropriately communicate hazards associated with chemicals during handling, shipping, and any form of exposure. Lack of preparedness and knowledge, especially when working with dangerous, corrosive, poisonous, and other types of hazardous chemicals can result in serious injury or death. Those working in a role involving cleaning or facility maintenance likely encounter many hazardous chemicals every day. Accidents can and do happen, but most of them are preventable by following simple processes. This course discusses the HazCom standard and demonstrates exposures to HAZMATs, different categories of hazardous materials, personal protective equipment (PPE), safe storage of HazMats, and how to appropriately respond to a HAZMAT spill. Use this course to prepare employees to safely work with and around hazardous chemicals, while complying with OSHA's Hazard Communication standard.
