Many employees believe conflicts with co-workers are normal and have a way of working themselves out. However, an isolated conflict can escalate into threats and violence, sometimes resulting in injuries and even death. Based upon OSHA's requirement that a place of employment remain free from recognized hazards likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, this course spotlights workplace violence as one of those recognized hazards. Upon learning the differences between the two main sources of threats, inside threats and outside threats, employees learn how to recognize, respond to, and report the wide-ranging types of workplace violence threats or incidents that can occur. Use this course so all food processing and handling employees take a "better safe than sorry" approach to recognizing, reporting, and preventing workplace violence.
