MaxIT · Beyond the LMS · CNA

The right training starts with the right questions.

CNA helps supervisors determine required training from the work people actually do. Branching assessments turn job-specific answers into a training plan, specialist notifications and a traceable record of why each requirement was assigned.

The business problem

Can you explain why each person needs their assigned training?

A completion report shows what someone finished. It may not show whether their specific duties were assessed, which hazards were identified, or why a course was required. CNA makes those decisions visible and repeatable.

01

Capture institutional knowledge

Turn expert knowledge about work activities and training requirements into a question tree your supervisors can use consistently.

02

Follow the work, not just the job title

Relevant follow-up questions help distinguish people with the same title who handle different equipment, materials or procedures.

03

Keep the reasoning with the record

Connect each training requirement to the answer that triggered it, with a preserved snapshot of the completed assessment.

A practical approach

How does CNA work?

01

Ask

A supervisor answers questions about the person’s actual duties, exposures and activities.

02

Branch

Follow-ups appear where an answer makes them relevant. Your requirements determine the question tree.

03

Determine

The training plan builds from the answers. Configured notifications alert the relevant specialists.

04

Record

Completion preserves the questions, answers, requirements and reasons in an assessment snapshot.

Fit for your environment

A practical fit for your compliance workflow

Start with a defined work group and a focused assessment. MaxIT can help adapt the question tree to your environment and connect the resulting plan to the way you deliver training.

  • University laboratories and research groups
  • Healthcare teams with role-specific duties and exposures
  • Industrial and construction teams with varied tasks
  • Organizations replacing spreadsheet-based training determinations

Questions, answered

What should you know about CNA?

What is Compliance Needs Assessment (CNA)?

CNA is MaxIT’s tool for determining required training from an individual’s work activities. A supervisor answers a branching assessment, and the system connects those answers to training requirements and a documented rationale.

Does CNA replace our LMS?

No. CNA determines what training is needed. Your existing delivery system can continue to deliver training. Integration options depend on your platform and the workflow you choose.

Can we use our own requirements?

Yes. The question tree can be authored by your organization or developed with MaxIT. It expresses your rules about which activities require which training and specialist notifications.

What evidence is retained?

Completed assessments preserve the questions, answers, resulting requirements and the reasons behind them. In the AbilityLRS workflow, assessment decisions and learning results are connected through xAPI records.
